I have just moved my family out to the Middle East, where the driving has to be seen to be believed. Truly dangerous. I have a 3 1/2 year old son and the booster seat we were using was simply not good enough, as I wanted an ISOFIX/LATCH system seat that he would fit, have some sort of side protection, a comfortable head rest for long journeys, an ability to recline and enable him to use a full harness. Some friends have the Greco Nautilus, which they recommend, but the reviews I have read complain about the short distance between the seat back and the front buckle as being uncomfortable for children as they grow. So the Britax Frontier 85 was an obvious choice, as not only did it tick all the boxes above, but it also has three positions for the front buckle.
I have now had the seat for three weeks. The seat installs as easily as any other LATCH system seat, but the recline of the seat has to be fixed at installation. Easy enough to alter, but not quite as I expected, and only two positions. I chose the slightly reclined position and have not had to change it yet. My boy really likes sitting in the seat; he likes its comfort and size, especially after the previous seat we had. The 5-point harness is great, with a standard buckle but also with a chest clip to hold the shoulder harness in the best (and most comfortable) place and to stop it slipping off his shoulders, not too dissimilar to that which you may find on a rucsac’s shoulder strap. The overall size of the seat means there is plenty of ‘growing room’.
Overall, then, I feel that I have purchased one of the safest and most comfortable child seats you can get. Highly recommended.

This is one of the best damn car seats I’ve owned. My son grew out of his Britax Roundabout so we replaced it with this one. I love how my son can sleep in it an his head doesn’t fall forward. He is so comfortable in it. It was easy to install, especially if you go to the Britax website and watch the installation video. I own a Honda Accord and my husband drives a Chevy Blazer and it fits nicely in both. I love how you can adjust the harness height without removing the straps or the cover. Awesome! If you have any doubts about making this your next purchase, don’t. You will not regret it.
